Addams Family comic fans make compelling case for Wednesday cast

Indeed, like his previous efforts Dorsal cavity aN.D Beetlejuice Many of his fans have long salivated over the idea that the iconic cult favorites will remain and that he is the perfect cinematic figure to take on the Addams Family.
Most audiences will be familiar with the titular family thanks to the 1991 film starring Christina Ricci, and since then there have been sequels and even an animated film that got a sequel just last year.
Adams has a history dating back to the nineties though…
The Addams Family began life as a comic
That’s right. The fictional family was on the page before it hit the screen, and the characters were created by American cartoonist Charles Adams.
He was first introduced to readers through a series of unrelated single-panel cartoons in 1938 and would continue to feature in The New Yorker over a period of five decades.
It was clear that the satirical American family was ripe for adaptation, and in 1964 a TV series was born. Over the years they have become more cemented in the wider realm of popular culture.
‘It’s perfect casting’
As you may know, Tim Burton is directing an American comedy horror series called Wednesday, based on the famous character of the same name.
It will focus on her time in high school at Nevermore Academy, and viewers were recently given their first proper look at the family.
Some fans familiar with the Addams Family comic have jumped to the casting’s defense, particularly praising Luis Guzmán’s portrayal of Gomez Addams, previously portrayed by Raul Julia in the nineties films. It’s easy to see how accurate that sounds when looking at the casting in the context of the comics:
