Agatha: The Darkhold Diaries Series: Cast, Release Date

0 2

Looks like we haven’t seen the last of Agatha Harkness after all. The finale of “WandaVision” left the door open for the evil witch to return, and Disney + is making it happen next year. So get ready for another new MCU series, “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries” (formerly known as “Agatha: Coven of Chaos”).

We’re still not entirely sure what the series will be about, but we do have two major pieces of news. Aubrey Plaza joined the series in an undisclosed role, Variety reported on November 2, 2022. POPSUGAR reached out to representatives for Disney and Plaza for comment but did not receive a response. The news came a day after the outlet broke the news that “Heartstopper” actor Joe Locke had joined the cast. His role is currently unknown, although fans have speculated that he will play some version of the Wiccan warrior, known as Billy Maximoff – one of Wanda’s sons.

Most of the final episode of “WandaVision” is devoted to a conflict between Wanda and Agatha (Kathryn Hahn), her nemesis. Although Agatha is ultimately defeated, she is still alive and hiding as a mentor that Wanda could follow because she understands Wanda’s magic. But since Wanda technically died at the end of May’s “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness” movie, it’s unclear exactly what “Darkhold Diaries” will be about.

Here’s what we know about the show so far.

“Agatha: Darkhold Diary” Plot

Aside from the fact that the show will focus on Agatha, plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but we do know that “WandaVision” head writer Jac Schaeffer will be handling this new project again in her own role. It looks like the witch will be building her own coven of magical creatures to wreak havoc in the MCU.

“Agatha: Darkhold Diary” Cast

Hahn will return as Agatha, with Locke and Plaza joining the cast. Emma Caulfield Ford will also reprise the role of Dottie from “WandaVision.”

“Agatha: Darkhold Diary” Release date

“Agatha: Coven of Chaos” was originally scheduled for a winter 2023 release, Marvel President Kevin Feige revealed at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it is now postponed to early fall 2024.
