Carrie Bradshaw and the girls call around the brunch table again for the second season of And just like thatHBO Max’s Sex and the City revival. The series is often separated from the active agent Michael Patrick King coming together Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixonand Christina Davis how three of the four handsome friends (so long, Samantha) were loved and sometimes hated by viewers in the original series and subsequent films. Who’s in And just like that season two?
Returning for round two are Parker, Nixon, and Davis, alongside Karen Pittman like Dr. Nya Wallace, Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa Todd Wexley, Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel, and Sara Ramírez as the aforementioned Che Diaz. Miranda’s husband, Steve (David Eigenberg) back to nurse his broken heart, possibly with fellow (former, current?) bar owner Aidan Shaw, played by a returning John Corbett. (More on that below.)
They are also ready to repeat their roles Mario Cantone as Samantha sometimes substitutes for Anthony, Evan Handler as Charlotte’s husband, Harry, Christopher Jackson like Lisa’s husband, Herbert, and Neil Cunningham as Brady son of Miranda, besides Cathy Ang and Alexa Swinton as Charlotte’s children, Lily and Rock, respectively. Candice Bergenwho played a ruthless Carrie Vogue editor Enid Frick in the original series, also re-enters the fold. New guest stars include a female activist Gloria Steinem and Sam Smithwho highlighted their presence sent back in February via Instagram.
What do And just like that season two about?
What can viewers expect from the upcoming season? The show is doubling down on Che Diaz, regardless of how you feel about them breaking up Miranda and Steve or using something called a “Woke Moment” button. “Che is one of the things I’m most excited about in season two,” show creator Michael Patrick King previously said. Different. “I want to show the magnitude of Che that people did not see, for whatever reason – because they were blind, out of fear or terror. I want to show more of Che rather than less of Che. Like, really.“The last we saw of Che, they went to California for pilot season – and Miranda was hopping on a flight to join them.
Meanwhile, Carrie is getting warm (extraordinary flower arrangement included) in her only moment after kissing her hot podcast producer, played by Ivan Hernandez. And from the looks of the first trailer, there’s a lot more speculation as to where that came from. But maybe she’s not done with the past just yet. As well as Aidan’s return, Parker was seen filming scenes in her iconic Vivienne Westwood wedding dress from the first. SATC film. Whether this callback is part of a dream sequence or a cry for help remains to be seen.
As for Charlotte, at the end of season 1 she had her own bat mitzvah when her child Rock’s “they-mitzvah” crashed and burned. In addition to a scandal involving a “MILF list” at her children’s school as shown in the first trailer, Charlotte will further explore her youngest child’s gender identity, Davis told reporters at a press junket called i present Vanity Fair during season one.
