Anthony Hopkins joins gladiator TV series Those About to Die
Anthony Hopkins to play the Roman emperor Vespasian in Those About to Die, Roland Emmerich’s gladiator drama series for Peacock.

Anthony Hopkins will play the Emperor Vespasian in Those who die. The leader of the Flavian bloodline, Vespasian is “a battle-tested, rural upstart who claimed his throne after victory in a bloody 10-year civil war. He is getting old and the Patricians despise him as they mock his position in the Empire and look to send his heirs to the throne the first chance they get.” Roland Emmerich (Moon) to direct the series for Peacock, written by Robert Rodat (Ryan’s Private Rescue). Production will begin at Cinecitta Studios in Rome in March.
