Anthony Mackie tells the truth behind Harrison Ford’s ripped pants
Captain America: Brave New World star Anthony Mackie reveals the real reason behind Harrison Ford’s ripped pants.

Anthony Mackie revealed the new title for Captain America: Brave New Order with an Instagram post last month, but that wasn’t the most interesting part of the post. The photo showed a costumed Anthony Mackie talking to Harrison Ford backstage, but fans quickly noticed that Ford’s pants were ripped, seemingly confirming that his character would transform into the Red Hulk.
This little detail probably wasn’t meant to slip through Marvel’s tight security, but Anthony Mackie told ComicBook.com the true reason behind Harrison Ford’s ripped pants. “See, Harrison [Ford] and I go way back. Not many people know this,” said Mackie. “This is our second time working together. He came down to Atlanta, they lost his luggage, so I gave him a pair of pants, but these are my work pants from working in the yard. Harrison, he’s a curmudgeon, so he says, ‘Anthony, just give me the damned pants.’ And I was like, ‘Okay.’ So that was all there was. He only had some pants.” Sounds 100% legit. Here is that picture for your viewing pleasure.

Red Hulk’s appearance has been rumored for some time now, and we may finally see him…
After grabbing the mantle of Captain America in The falcon and the winter soldierAnthony Mackie is finally directing his own Marvel movie with Captain America: Brave New World. Stepping into the shoes of Captain America is no small feat, and Mackie is all too aware of the pressure. “There is a lot of pressure,” said Mackie. “You throw my dumb ass in the water, and you’re like, ‘Swim.’ I’m like, ‘Sh*t.’ But at the same time, it’s all in a state of mind. I have been given a large cast. I’ve been given a great group of people that I’ve worked with before.”
Harrison Ford plays Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in Captain America: Brave New World, replacing William Hurt after the actor’s death last year. The president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, has confirmed that Ross is the president of the United States in the film. “This is definitely a big role for Thaddeus Ross,” said Kevin Feige. “He is the president of the United States in the film. And with Harrison, you think Air Force One, and you think about some of his conflicts with the president in A clear and present danger. There is a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film, we see the dynamic between Captain America and the president of the United States in a way that is simply unbelievable.“
Captain America: Brave New World it will affect theaters July 26, 2024.
