Brigitte Nielsen hits back at critics who say she is ‘too old’ to be a mother to her daughter
Brigitte Nielsen aware of a statement about her decision to have a child at 55.
And to those comments, she has a lot to say.
“There is no such thing as ‘too old,'” the Danish actress, model and singer, who at 60 is mother to five-year-old Frida, explains People.
“We don’t say that to men who have children in their 60s, 70s, even 80s!”
Nielsen, who played Ludmilla Vobet Drago in Rocky IV (1985) and spinoffs Christ II (2018), then pointed out how Robert De Niro80, yes father of a seven-month-old child.
After 13 years of IVF, Nielsen became pregnant at the age of 54 with her now five-year-old daughter, Frida, who she shares with her husband, 45-year-old Mattia Dessi.
The couple, who married in 2006, lives with Frida in Marbella, Spain.

Nielsen actually argues that her age has made her an even better parent.
“You know how kids say grandmas are the best? I feel like I have that mentality and that feeling. That extra patience and love to give now, and I think it’s because I’m grandma’s age.”

She noted that when she was a “younger mother”, she juggled the commitments of her career and being single, but with Frida and Nielsen’s current stage of life, the her daughter “comes first”.

Nielsen is also mother to four sons – Julian Winding, 39, who she shares with Kasper Winding, Killian Marcus Nielsen, 33, who she shares with Mark Gastineau, as well as Aaron Nielsen, 30- year and 28-year-old Raoul Ayrton Meyer Jr, who both share with Raoul Meyer.
