Canadian bus crash leaves at least 15 dead | World | News
At least 15 people have died – with 10 others injured – after a bus and a truck collided, Canadian police said.
The bus, which was carrying mostly elderly people, collided with a truck at an intersection in a rural part of Manitoba. Rob Hill, who is in charge of the Royal Canadian Mounted Manitoba Police, said that the bus was carrying 25 people and that authorities are using their resources in the province to the scene.
Ten people were taken to hospitals. TV broadcasters broadcast images of what appeared to be a large van or bus smoldering in a ditch near a transport truck with a broken engine on a road.
Pictures appear to show several bodies, covered in blankets, lying on the highway.
