Circle K has joined First Coast golf with HAGA sponsorship deals

Circle K has stepped up to support two of the Jacksonville Area Golf Association’s most important activities.

The South Atlantic division of the convenience store chain will be the main sponsor of the JAGA Trust Classic Scholarship, which raises money for financial aid for area college students.

Circle K will also be the presenting sponsor of the golf festival celebration, which will be on February 21, 2024 at Timuquana Country Club.

Circle K is also the presenting sponsor of the Furyk & Friends Champions Tour PGA.

JAGA also announced that it will raise the annual amount of financial aid for scholarship winners from $2,000 to $2,500.

Take the family for golf, a fun vacation

The JAGA Family Competition is still open for new entries. The tournament will be held on December 16 at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.

Any combination of family members is welcome for the two-player scramble event. There are full and net divisions with two tees starting at 7:30 and 11:30am.

Chloe Schiavone will move

Two-time Times-Union high school player of the year Chloe Schiavone plans to graduate from Notre Dame with a marketing degree next spring and plans to transfer to the University of Virginia to compete for its 2024-25 golf team.

Schiavone recently finished third in the St. Andrews Intercollegiate Championship.

Schiavone has also qualified for the US Women’s Amateur Four for the fifth time in six years. She and the captain are Irish Ferreira Montgomery qualified at Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Golf Club in Rockford, Ill., with a 68 that included Schiavone holding out for an eagle on the final hole, from 155 yards out.

The US Women’s Four Seasons will be May 11-15 at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.

Competition dates set

The 33rd The Underwood Cup matches between Northern Chapter PGA Professionals and First Coast Amateurs will be on February 5-6 at Timuquana Country Club. … The First Coast Women’s Amateur will be July 22-24 at the Plantation in Ponte Vedra Beach. … Volunteers are needed for the PGA Tour Q-School, which will be Dec. 11-17 at TPC Sawgrass Dye’s Valley and Sawgrass Country Club.
