Neil Patrick Harris is celebrating 50 with some love from his biggest fan: husband David Burtka. Harris turned 50 on June 15, and received a sweet compliment from Burtka on Instagram. Along with a photo of the longtime couple together, Burtka wrote, “Can’t believe you’re 50! Happy birthday. You still look so hot.”
Burtka continued, “You continue to amaze me with how amazing you are. As we both grow older, our bond deepens and our love grows deeper. Strong. Let’s keep smiling through the next 50. #50to50.” One image in the slideshow included a childhood photo of former actor “Doogie Howser, MD,” which was photoshopped to include “50” candles.
Harris also celebrated the milestone on social media, posting a shirtless Instagram photo. In the caption, he wrote, “Fifty. Let’s go.” The message drew several comments from Harris’ famous friends, including former “How I Met Your Mother” actress Cobie Smulders, who wrote, “What a stud. Love you❤️.”
Harris and Burtka have two children, twins Harper and Gideon, 12. The couple first met in 2004, and shared their romance publicly in 2007. After two decades together, Burtka and Harris married in 2014 once gay marriage was legalized.
