Spoiler alert!

Arnold Schwarzenegger talks about the ‘difficult’ childhood he spent under his ‘tyrant’ father in his three-part Netflix docuseries, Arnold. The ‘Terminator’ actor will give details about his childhood days in the docuseries for the first time on Thursday at 12:30 am IST.

Arnold Schwarzenegger talks about his Nazi father

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who grew up in Austria, is about to open up openly about his upbringing in the limited series. He talks about his personal life as well as his career as an actor, politician and bodybuilder. The docuseries shows the A-lister talking about his father, Gustav Schwarzenegger. He was an official of the Nazi Party and Arnold said he was a ‘tyrant’. The actor said that his father may have suffered from various mental health problems.

Remembering his father, Arnold said, “He was buried under buildings, rubble, for three days, and on top of that, they lost the war.” They went home so depressed. Austria was a country of broken people. I think there were times when my father had a big problem. ”

Arnold reminisced about his late brother’s death

He said Gustav had a ‘schizophrenic behaviour’. This made it unclear to them whether the actor and his late brother would find their alter ego ‘kind’ or ‘drunk’. The sisters had to earn breakfast and even compete against each other. Referring to his father’s behaviour, Arnold said, “He would scream at three in the morning and we would wake up and our hearts were pounding because we knew he meant it. His father used to beat the actor’s mother with strange violence.

The ‘True Lies’ actor believes his sister’s drinking problem came from their ‘difficult’ upbringing as he lost his brother Meinhard Schwarzenegge in a drunk driving accident. Remembering his late brother, Arnold said, “The brutality at home, the beatings we got from our parents sometimes – all this I think he couldn’t keep up. He was much worse than a man by nature.”

However, this is not the only thing that Arnold will be sharing in his upcoming docuseries. He also detailed the difficult moment he had to confess to his wife at the time, Maria Shriver, about his relationship with their housemate, Mildred Baena and their child. However, in 2011, his ex-wife objected to their son Joseph, who was born in 1997.
