Drake slipped under the covers and got real about why he’s not married in a July 20 appearance on “The Really Good Podcast With Bobbi Althoff.” Althoff, a rising TikTok star who disarms her podcast guests with her deadpan humor, had no problem asking the “Hotline Bling” rapper questions both intimate and silly. This led Drake to share his honest thoughts about marriage and what he looks for in a partner.
When asked why he’s never been married, Drake replied, “I don’t know. It’s like old times or something. I think I will eventually. I don’t know, I don’t think I can offer someone what they’re looking for. Just consistency. I think my life, my work is my priority.” Althoff teased her host by asking if he just wanted to “sleep around,” and said he couldn’t offer “consistency” at this point in his life. “I don’t want to get married because I just don’t want to disappoint someone, and I’m not like, Amish,” he said.
Drake went on to reveal the details of what he is looking for in a partner, while also saying that he is unlikely to marry a celebrity. “I probably won’t marry someone famous,” he told Althoff. He said celebrities are “not that interesting.”
Instead, Drake is looking for someone who is a real person – and maybe in cosplay? “I like someone who, like their own,” he explained. “They’re not just like a carbon copy, like a person I’ve seen a few times in my life. I like someone with a sense of humor, you know? I like – I don’t know, like, cosplay.”
Althoff then asked who the musician would want his partner to dress up for, prompting Drake to clarify his comments. “No, I don’t need them [dress up] – Maybe I’ll go to them more if they’re in a similar situation,” he said, “Not mine, usually.”
“You’re weirder than I thought you were,” Althoff said after hearing his answer. Drake shot back, “That’s definitely a fact. You have no idea, honey.”
