Early Scream VI reactions have been revealed

The first impressions of Scream VI have emerged, with many calling it the silliest entry yet.
Scream VI is getting its press release this weekend, and the lucky journalists who participated (JimmyO himself included) saw the film last night. Immediately after the screening, they were allowed to share their thoughts on social media, with a full review embargo set to break later this week. Our man Jimmy had the following to say:
“#Scream6 is a joy! The entire cast shines, old and new, and the kills are brutal. This is one of the best sequels in the series with unexpected (and fun) twists throughout! I definitely love this scary movie!”
Other comments were equally positive, with many praising the amped-up gore and New York City’s new urban setting. Of course, it must be remembered that a screening junket is always very positive, and it is normal that if someone is doing interviews for the film and they hate it, they would not share their opinion. That said, you can usually read between the lines, with the classic reaction to a movie you didn’t like being “it was fun.” The comments (so far) seem legit – so check them out below!
#Shell6 it’s a pleasure! The entire cast shines, old and new, and the kills are brutal. This is one of the best sequels in the series with unexpected (and fun) twists throughout! I sure like this scary movie! #scream Full review coming to @joblocom fast! pic.twitter.com/mg9ZuLUNYM

Therefore, #Shell6 starts gory and stays gory (the kills – and there are a lot of them – are all brutal). There is tension and grime with the NY setting, and the “main four” are doing their own series. Still quite a legacy, without relying on nostalgia. Good blood! pic.twitter.com/XqnabIaKis

Glad to report that #Shell6 it’s slashtastic!!! Pacing is great, the Core Four reigns supreme, some really inventive set pieces & you can just feel Radio Silence’s love for horror & this franchise from start to finish. As a 26+ year fan of this franchise, I’m happy. Very pleased. #Scream pic.twitter.com/12Xq9XYloD

#Shell6 is the continuation PERFECT!
Blood festival outside! Filled with some of the best kills for the franchise & still a great game of GUESS WHO! Melissa Barrera & Jenna Ortega confirmed that they are the perfect new leads. I am in love and obsessed pic.twitter.com/shPo3BiYjv— Zach Pope (@popetheking) March 4th, 2023

Feeling very lucky to be an entrepreneur #Scream a fan #ScreamVI is wonderful. So grateful this franchise fell into the hands of Radio Silence because they are still crushing it. Yes, the Ghostface attacks/kills are particularly vicious – some could be franchise highs in terms of tension. pic.twitter.com/f2RuYuq5OD
