Julia Roberts and Danny Moder have been married for 20 years, and over the decades, their love has not grown stronger.
“When I’m not working, [being a homemaker] is my full-time job,” Roberts, 54, told him Sunday Morning CBS over the weekend. “It’s not all rainbows and kittens every day, but it gives me a lot of joy.
“Being an actor has never consumed me. It’s my dream come true, but not my only dream come true.
“The life I built with my husband [and] the life we built with our children, that’s the best stuff. To come home at the end of the day, victorious, for them.”
The famous couple met in 2000 while working on the film The Mexican.
Moder, 53, a cinematographer, was part of the cast, and Roberts starred in the film alongside Brad Pitt.
Both were in relationships with other people at the time, with Roberts dating Benjamin Bratt and Moder married to makeup artist Vera Steimberg.
Moder and Steimberg eventually split in 2002, although the story has scandalous roots. according to Parade, the two split up due to Roberts and Moder’s relationship.
Despite the controversy, Roberts and Moder quickly married, tying the knot on July 4 (US Independence Day) that same year.
Roberts, who is very private about her personal life, once spoke publicly about the “movement” she felt when she finally got together with her husband.
“I think meeting Danny was the first kind of real…’seismic shift,'” Roberts told Gwyneth Paltrow on her Goop podcast.
“Marrying Danny, that was the first, like, my life will never be the same in the most incredible, indescribable way.
“He really is, to this day, to this moment, my favorite person. I’m more interested in what he has to say or in his opinion just more than anyone. Really, we’re so lucky that way. “
The couple are now parents to 17-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and son Henry, 15.
