Fast X, cameo, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham

A LOT OF SPOILERS for Fast X. Consider warning yourself. Latest Fast & Furious movie is now in theaters, and fans are ready for another high-octane adventure full of crazy stunts and awesome action. As Fast X This being the first part of a two-part (or maybe three) finale, you can expect cliffhanger endings and even a cameo or two.

Unfortunately, one of the biggest moments of Fast X published prematurely. You know what I’m talking about, the return of Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs. The actor made a cameo in the mid-credits scene Fast X, which found Dante (Jason Momoa) reaching out to Hobbs to make sure he knew he was his next target. The return surprised many, considering the famous rivalry between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel. Speaking to THR, Fast X director Louis Leterrier explained who broke the peace treaty between the two.

The peace treaty…I did that. We all did. Finally, the film did,” said Louis Leterrier. “I didn’t know Dwayne, personally, but we reached Dwayne and Dwayne’s team. We looked at each other from across the room and woke up a few months ago, saying, ‘We should work together.’ And then I had this idea and I took it to the producers and the studio. And then we reached out to Dwayne and his crew and said, ‘Just come see the movie. You have to love the film first.’” Leterrier said that Johnson came out to see the film and really liked it, which got everyone talking again. “It was very smooth, and frankly, as a fan, I couldn’t imagine continuing the franchise without Dwayne or Gal Gadot,” said Leterrier. “This license was built by actors and characters. The set pieces are beautiful. They entertain you and keep you popping popcorn in your mouth, but the characters make this franchise what it is.

Dwayne Johnson proved to be a valuable addition to the franchise after first appearing in Five quickbut his feud with Vin Diesel took him away from the franchise after that Attendance of the Court. Vin Diesel publicly asked for his return in an Instagram post that Johnson did not take well. “I told [Diesel] I would definitely not return to the franchise,” Johnson said. “I was firm but heartfelt with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the team and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return. Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he raised children in the role, as well as the death of Paul Walker. Leave them out of it. We had talked months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.” With his internal cameo Fast X, Dwayne Johnson is officially back, but it will be interesting to see how big he will be in the finale. Will he really share a scene with Vin Diesel?
