Fede Alvarez’s Alien film brings out its cast

Fede Alvarez’s new Alien film is rounding out its cast, with production on the project set to begin in Budapest next week.

After Alien: Covenant underperformed at the box office six years ago, it was unclear if the long-running franchise would return, but you can’t keep a good Xenomorph down. Fede Alverez (Kill evil) is set to take a new leadership Alien movie starring Cailee Spaeny (Mare of Eastown), and THR has revealed the rest of the cast.
The revolution announced that David Jonsson (Business), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Spike Fearn (The Batman), and Aileen Wu (Away from Home) joined the new team Alien film. It was also revealed yesterday that Isabela Merced (Rosalind) also signed it. We should be hearing more before long, as production on the project is expected to begin in Budapest on March 9. Fede Alverez directs from a script he co-wrote with Rodo Sayagues.
Little is known about the new information Alien movie, but Cailee Spaeny is said to be playing a Ripley-like character. The team is also going younger than usual as they deal with “a group of young people on a distant world find themselves in conflict with the most terrifying life form in the universe.” Ridley Scott is producing the project, and Fede Alvarez pitched it for a new one Alien movie years ago. Scott remembered the idea and later called him to ask if he was still willing to do the film. 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell said they built the project “directly from the strength of the Fede field” and said that “just a great story with a bunch of characters you haven’t seen before.“
Like recently Predator sequel, Preythis new Alien a movie is also slated for the Hulu streaming service. Steve Asbell said that was the best thing for the project. Instead of dismissing any concern for mainstream theater audiences, Asbell said, “It is not a film that everyone needs to have with these gargantuan budgets. They must be truly what they are. And this is closer to its gender roots.” This new Alien the film is not the same Alien project being developed for Hulu as they are also a TV series to be developed by Fargo creator Noah Hawley. The project is still coming together but could debut on FX on Hulu as early as 2023.
