His nephew Michael Jackson will play him in an upcoming Biopic

Who better to play the King of Pop than his own nephew?
The upcoming biopic of Michael Jackson will include a surprising but somewhat logical piece of casting: the lead role in the title of which is at least uncertain Michael played by none other than Jaafar Jackson, the son of Michael’s nephew (and Jackson 5 member) Jermaine Jackson.
It was here Michael producer Graham King’s comment on the news, via press release.
I met Jaafar two years ago and I was blown away by the way he organically personifies Michael’s spirit and personality. It was something so powerful that even after doing a world search, it was clear that he was the only person who took this role. I am thrilled that he has come on board to portray his uncle and I can’t wait for the world to see him on the big screen as Michael Jackson.
Jermaine and Michael’s mother Katherine Jackson had this to say about the casting: “Jaafar embodies my son. It’s so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers,”
The same press release states that the film will “explore all aspects of Michael’s life, including his most iconic performances that made him the greatest entertainer of all time.” Antoine Fuqua, the man who did Training day, Shooter, The Balancerand recently Salvation, attached to lead the project. It works from a screenplay by John Logan, who wrote it before The Aviator, Alien: Covenant, Rachel, The Last Samuraiand Gladiator.
