Traditionally, Gengar can only be obtained through trade, but in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there is a way to get scary Pokémon without that requirement. Gengar usually evolves from Haunter when traded with a friend. However, this is a bit challenging for players who don’t have online friends to trade with or aren’t close to an internet connection.
Haunter evolves into Gengar at any level when traded; however, you can get this same Pokémon, but it still needs to be traded with an NPC. Gengar’s in-game trading point
To trade with an NPC in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you must first go to the battle court of Levincia. There, you will find a named NPC A flowerwho asks to trade Haunter with you in exchange for a Pincurchin.
Once your trade with Blossom is complete, the Haunter will instantly become a Gengar. This is because Blossom’s Haunter does not hold an Everstone, which prevents the Haunter from transforming.
Commercial Gengar is Ready for Battle
As a hacker, Hauntkins ability is naturally Levitate, though it should be noted that Gengar has Cursed Body instead.. This allows Gengar to cancel any damaging move it hits.
Whether players let it evolve or not, Pokémon Blossom is level 25 at the time of trading and knows the moves Payback, Spite, Curse, and Hex. He also has Ghost as his Tera Type, which suggests his mobility.
This is one of only a few NPC trades in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and it offers the highest level of Pokemon. The somewhat unfortunate choice in nickname aside, Hauntkins is clearly ready for a fight.
