3rd quarter report

Luck may be turning around for the Heat after losing seven in a row. They jumped out to a 90-84 lead against the Kings.

If the Heat keep playing like this, they will bump their record up to 25-23 in no time. On the other hand, the Kings will have to make do with a 27-19 record if they don’t turn things around (and fast).

What to know

The Heat and Kings are even 5-5 against each other since October 2018, but not for long. The Miami Heat play at home against the Sacramento Kings at 7:30 pm ET on Wednesday at the Kaseya Center. The Heat enter the contest with seven consecutive losses, while the Kings jump in with four consecutive wins.

The point spread may have favored the Heat last Monday, but the final result did not. They took a 118-105 blow to the loss column at the hands of Phoenix. The Heat were down 100-74 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to overcome.

Jimmy Butler put in a good effort for the losing team as he scored 26 points along with eight rebounds.

The Heat struggled to work together and finished the game with just 20 helpers. They were destroyed by their opponents in that department as the Suns put up 30 assists.

At the same time, Sacramento was able to get a strong victory over the Grizzlies on Monday, taking the game 103-94. The victory came as a result of a strong surge starting at the 0:20 mark of the first quarter, when the Kings had a 33-18 deficit.

Domantas Sabonis was the offensive power of the game as he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 26 rebounds. It didn’t help the Kings’ cause much against the Mavericks on Saturday but the same can’t be said for this game.

Miami’s loss was their fourth straight at home, dropping their record to 24-23. Those losses could be blamed on the team’s offensive performance over that stretch, as they only averaged 104.8 points per game. As for Sacramento, their win went up to 27-18.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: The Heat have not given up the ball easily this season, having only reached 12.4 turnovers per game. However, it doesn’t look like the King’s struggles in that department as they were only averaging 12.8 turnovers per game. With these competitive strengths, it will be interesting to see how their rivalry plays out.

Looking ahead, the Heat are the favorites in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 1.5 points. Bettors picking them against the spread have some confidence (to put it mildly), as the team is sitting on a three game streak without covering when they are expected to win.

Miami is favored by 1.5 points against Sacramento, according to the latest NBA odds.

The fans had a good feeling for the line for this one, as the game opened with the Heat as the favorite by 1 point.

The over/under is set at 231 points.
