When discussing the process of filming DaCosta, Vellani can’t help but rave about the process and the opportunity to see professionals in their element. “She also has a sense of calm,” Vellani says of DaCosta. “Making these films is not easy at all. There are like a million, bajillion little moving parts. She and Mary [Livanos] he did such a good job of keeping morale high. Even if there were days where they wanted to rip people’s heads off, they would never show it and never put the pressure on anyone else.”

The Marvels introducing new faces to the MCU, incl A parasiteand Park Seo-joon, in a secret role, which Livanos says is the “Dear Carol,” and Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn, the vicious Kree rebel. Ashton had been waiting for an opportunity to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe when her agent asked her to join The Marvels. She accepted immediately, jumped into stunt training, and reached out to boyfriend Tom Hiddleston for advice on playing a villain in the MCU.
Ashton says Hiddleston replied, “What you put into Marvel, you get back. If you go into this with an open heart and a good work ethic and just want to give the fans an amazing experience, you’re going to have an amazing experience on these sets.’ It really empowered me in that way. “ Also, ask for plenty of zippers on your outfit for smoother bathroom trips!

Another important movie star is Goose, Carol’s flerken cat companion! Played mainly by two feline actors named Nemo and Tango, Goose is accompanied by an army of flerken The Marvels. In case you forgot, Flerkens are a race of alien creatures that resemble Earth cats in appearance and behavior. However, they reproduce by laying up to 117 eggs and with tentacles extending from their mouths. according to Marvel Fandom, their bodies also hold pocket realities, bubbles of space and time that exist in other worlds. “The team was really happy when the kittens were around,” Livanos says. “It was like Christmas when we had the bigger kitten scenes. Everyone had their favorite. “ Unfortunately, Larson is severely allergic to cats and works with a feline CGI co-star for her scenes.
Despite high stakes in almost any MCU tentpole, DaCosta holds The Marvels light and fun. “It doesn’t have to be intense and heavy,” Larson says. “There’s a lot of humour. I think this movie is very funny, and we had a lot of laughs while making it.”
