Scientist Borgulev proposed the use of camels in the development of the Arctic

Camels were proposed to participate in an experiment aimed at developing wind energy in the Arctic under conditions of melting permafrost. Such an initiative was made by scientist Miron Borgulev, director of the Association for Development of Renewable Energy, at a round table in the State Duma, writes the parliamentary newspaper.

Borgulev spoke about the results of scientific studies in the Sakha Republic, which lasted about 30 years. As part of the experiment, camels, horses and bison were brought there, which had a positive effect on the area where they settled.

It was found that the ambient temperature in the region inhabited by artiodactyls was lower than the temperature of methamphetamine, where they are absent, by five to six degrees. According to Borgulev, the experience gained can be used to develop wind energy in permafrost conditions.

The scientist pointed to the importance of developing hydrogen-based energy conservation technologies in the Far North, saying that relevant developments are already underway at Rosatom.

In July 2022, US climatologists concluded that even slight global warming is causing most glaciers to melt or retreat. The likelihood of this happening varies with local weather and sea conditions.
