Kate McKinnon’s Weird Barbie gets an official Mattel doll
Kate Mckinnon’s Weird Barbie Doll from the hit Greta Gerwig movie is available for pre-order from Mattel for a limited time!

Barbie fever is sweeping the country, and Mattel is taking every opportunity to cash in on the success of Greta Gerwig’s multi-million dollar movie! Suppose you’re new to the concept of Gerwig’s latest film. In that case, Barbie revolves around Margot Robbie’s character experiencing a critical crisis in an overpopulated world with different personalities Ken and Barbie. In Barbie World, Barbie diplomats, scientists, mermaids, artists, and Supreme Court Justices rule the beach along with an assortment of party-loving Kens. However, one Barbie is stranger than the rest, Kate McKinnon’s Weird Barbie. Mattel is aware of the popularity of the character, and now they are introducing an official Weird Barbie doll inspired by McKinnon’s character.
In the film American Ferrera’s Gloria meets McKinnon’s infamous Barbie. The character sports an unmatched suit, a radical hairstyle, and facial tattoos in the form of scratch marks and stickers. She can easily do the splits thanks to intense play sessions, and believe me when I tell you; she saw some things and some things, man.
Talking to Entertainment every week about the physicality of Weird Barbie, Gerwig credits production designer Sarah Greenwood with aspects of McKinnon’s physical performance.
“Sarah did the set design like, ‘I made all these holes in the wall where she can put her real leg in, and then we’ll put the other leg up,'” Gerwig said. “It was like a practical victory.”
Mattel’s Weird Barbie is available for pre-order until August 18th. Here is an official description of the limited edition doll:
If anyone knows how to keep it weird, it’s Weird Barbie, a starting character from Barbie The Movie. Our doll version wears an outfit inspired by one you see in the feature film, a bright pink dress with colorful artwork and puffy sleeves, and green snakeskin boots. She also features short tousled hair and marks on her face to mimic a doll that has been played with just a little too much.

I have the most intense ones Barbie FOMO right now. Although not for lack of trying, I still haven’t seen the movie. Every show in my area is sold out, except for the front row, where I refuse to sit. I am very happy that the film is doing so well. However, I need people to do something else for the evening and leave me and my partner two seats in the top row. Let’s make it happen, Universe!
