Kathryn Bigelow currently working on “a couple of things” for Netflix.

Speaking to Collider, Netflix Films’ Scott Stuber revealed that the special film adaptation of David Koepp’s Aurora is not the only thing Bigelow is working on for the company. While he didn’t go into detail, he did explain that the Hurt Locker director has “a lot of things on the stove” at Netflix right now.

“I think what’s exciting is that we have a ton of great filmmakers. We are really pushing to get Kathryn Bigelow’s next film and to work with her on a couple of things. She’s one of the best, and we all need another Kathryn Bigelow movie. We need it so badly. So we try. We have several pots on the stove for her because she’s one of my… I idolize her, and she’s one of the coolest, best artists out there, so it would be a dream to realize being able to make a film with her. .”

Bigelow made her film directorial debut in 1981 with The Loveless. Along with the Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker in 2008, she has directed feature films such as Near Dark 1987, Point Break 1991, Zero Dark Thirty in 2012, and, most recently, Detroit in 2017. She was also a executive producer on Triple Frontier in 2019, which was distributed through Netflix.

What is Aurora all about?

In March 2022, Bigelow announced that her next project would be an adaptation of Koepp’s Aurora, which was released in June 2022. Koepp is also writing the screenplay for the film, which “follows characters which deals with the collapse of the social order, set against a terrible power crisis around the world,” according to 2022 fall Posted by official Netflix account.

Koepp has previously worked on the screenplays for Jurassic Park 1993, Mission 1996: Impossible, 2002’s Spider-Man, 2005’s War of the Worlds, Indiana Jones 2008 and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and many more.

Aurora does not yet have an official release date from Netflix.
