Kerala Story OTT release: Here’s when and where to watch Adah Sharma starrer
Adah Sharma starrer The Kerala Story is entirely based on the accounts of three women from Kerala, namely: Nimisha Nair, Sonia Sebastian, and Merin Jacob, who converted to Islam and traveled with their husbands to Afghanistan to join – into the Islamic State between 2016 and 2018. Directed by Sudipto Sen, the film received a lot of attention and praise from the audience and both critical acclaim and commercial success. Adah Sharma’s The Kerala Story OTT debut date announced by streaming platform
Sudipto Sen’s film The Kerala Story starring Adah Sharma left a lasting impression on audiences in 2023. Now, viewers can revisit or experience OTT. The streaming service ZEE5 recently announced the premiere of the film on its platform, slated for this month on February 16.
In an Instagram post previewing the film and teasing its story, the caption read, “The wait is officially over! The much awaited movie is dropping soon on ZEE5! #TheKeralaStory premieres on 16th February, only on #ZEE5″
According to DNA India, Adah Sharma spoke about the much awaited OTT release of the film as she said, “The confident makers of The Kerala Story, Vipul Shah and Sudipto Sen deserve to be applauded for their work worked very hard to make this film happen. After its box office success, creating worldwide history making it the highest grossing female-directed film of all time, we are now looking forward to the film’s release on ZEE5.”
On the other hand, director Sudipto Sen said that dealing with such a sensitive subject and translating it into a film is no small task. He also said that it is a challenge that they were willing to accept. “However, every filmmaker wants assurance about his work and the box office performance of The Kerala Story was a confirmation and a joy for me to keep believing in myself,” said Sudipto.
Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. It stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani. The plot follows a group of women from Kerala who are forced to convert to Islam and join the Islamic State.
