Ranveer Singh talks about delivering three consecutive flop films
In his heart-to-heart conversation with filmmaker Karan Johar on his talk show, Ranveer Singh finally spoke about dealing with three unsuccessful films in a row. He said, “I went through a lot, especially after Cirkus (2022).
Going back in time, he said, “Let me take you back to the pandemic. Coming out of the pandemic, we had this beautiful movie 83 (2021) that everyone loved. It’s just released at the wrong time. 48 hours before release, we lost major markets because they all closed down because of Omicron. Unfortunately, a beautiful film had the stigma of being a commercial entertainer.”
The following year, his comedy film Jayeshbhai Jordaar was released which failed to run big numbers. “Jayeshbhai Jordaar was again, a beautiful, well-intentioned film that audiences ultimately found streaming and, in the post-pandemic climate, that’s where it belongs.”
Talking about his third flop film Cirkus, he said, “In Cirkus, I had little support and limited responsibility. So, I can’t beat myself up over it. Having said that, I have never seen three major flops in a row. So, it was new to me,” said the actor adding that he was not at his best after 3 months of release.
“But then, I came to terms with everything that’s happening to me and around me and I’ve been fine. I have come out of it with more gratitude in my heart than ever before. I look at my life and I see blessings and abundance. I’m still here, doing what I love to do for a living. I look at my life and I see only blessings,” concluded Ranveer.
