Larry David Attacks Elmo Live on the ‘Today’ Show: Video – Hollywood Life

Update (2/2/2024 3:51 PM ET): Larry David gave a breakdown of what happened to him Today later that night Late Night with Seth Meyers. And Elmo was going on about mental health. And I had to listen to every word. And I was going, ‘Oh my God! Oh my god! I don’t think I can take another second of this!” he said, mimicking Elmo’s tone at one point. “And I got off my chair and came to him. And I backed off. That’s you. I couldn’t take it.”

Even though he apologized later Today, the Extinguish your enthusiasm maybe the star wasn’t entirely sincere when he said he was sorry for Elmo. He doubled down on it late night, and there was little regret. “And you know what? I would do it again,” he said.

Original story: Not everyone loves Elmo. Larry David took an unexpected turn when he attacked the muppet in an interview on the Today show on Thursday, February 1. As Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager ready to turn to him Al Roker for the weather, Larry, 76, ran up to Elmo and started grabbing him and hitting him, but it seems they made up later.

Elmo was having a conversation with the Today hosts and were to receive a weather update from Al, ron Seinfeld the creator ran up and started attacking Elmo. The guests were surprised and tried to make Larry stop, before he left. Then Elmos called after him. “Mr. Larry, you used to like Elmo! ” he said. “Let’s go back to bed and talk about how you feel. “

Jenna then called to Larry from across the set. “Larry, you’ve gone too far this time,” she said. The comedian then had his own answer, showing that he felt he was right. “Somebody had to do it!” he said. Al admitted that he “didn’t see that coming. “

Later in the show, Jenna and Hoda asked the comedy icon if he had anything he wanted to say to Elmo, and he said he was sorry (even if he was laughing a little through it). “Elmo, I just want to apologize,” Larry said.

The show then cut to Elmo, and the muppet said he was willing to forgive Larry. “Elmo accepts your apology,” he said.

Elmo sure has had some rough breaks lately. While Larry seemed to be promoting the final season of his beloved sitcom Control your courage, Elmo was a guest mostly to talk about his viral tweet where he asked “How’s everyone?” The answer prompted tons of responses from people where they got real about the hard feelings they were going through. Even though many of the responses may have been negative emotions, the muppet showed that he was just happy to connect. “Elmo is glad he got a chance to talk to a lot of people and see how they’re doing,” he said. “It’s good to know how you feel, and if you feel sad or worried or confused, you can talk to someone you love and trust.”
