The winner of the Inter Miami-Charlotte FC match will face the winner of Philadelphia Union-Querétaro in the semi-final on August 16.

Messi and Inter Miami will play against Charlotte FC in the League Cup quarterfinals on Friday, August 11 at 8:30 pm ET.

If Inter Miami is kicked out of the League Cup, the team’s next scheduled game will be August 23 against FC Cincinnati in the US Open Cup. Inter Miami’s next MLS regular season game – originally scheduled for August 20 against Charlotte FC – has been postponed to a later date to be announced. Therefore, Messi could make his MLS regular season debut on August 26 against the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey.

In the knockout rounds, Charlotte FC defeated Liga MX’s Cruz Azul in a penalty shootout and then Houston Dynamo FC in a wild late rally to set up a date with Messi and Inter Miami.
