Lizzo helps a fan propose via FaceTime during a performance

At a recent show in Glasgow, Scotland, Lizzo helped a fan get engaged, and the heartwarming moment was captured on camera!
Lizzo helped a couple named Grant & Ryan
Videos shared on social media show that the interaction was prompted by the singer noting a message on a listener’s phone, which read, “Ask a boyfriend to marry my brother.”
In the end Lizzo gave in to the request, as her fan’s brother – Grant – FaceTime was her partner and she gave the phone to the “Truth Hurts” singer.
While on stage, Lizzo continued to talk to her husband, Ryan, before revealing that Grant had a big question for him.
Grant then proceeds to ask for Ryan’s hand in marriage, and – while he is “too stunned to speak” – he accepts.
Lizzo then shares a message of congratulations and cheers to the audience before handing the phone back and continuing with her presentation.
Check out a few different clips of the interaction below.

She is not afraid to share her light
While we’re on the subject, we have to point out another example of Lizzo sharing the stage to let others bask in the spotlight.
As The Shadow Room previously reported, the artist was recently honored with the People’s Champion Award at the end of 2022. While accepting the award – presented by Shari Johnson-Jefferson, who proud mother – Lizzo proceeded to welcome seven famous activists to the stage.
“Being an icon is not about how long you’ve had your platform. Being an icon is what you do with that platform. And ever since the beginning of my career, I have used my platform to amplify marginalized voices. So, tonight I share this honor. Make some noise for the people, y’all!”
Lizzo continued to introduce all the protesters as they gave a brief description of their reasons. Honorees included Shirley Raines from Beauty 2 The Streetz, Amariyanna “Little Miss Flint” Copenny, and Tamika Palmer – Breonna Taylor’s mother.
After sharing the stage with these seven activists, she passionately said, “Power will always be to the people!”
Shout out to Lizzo for helping Grant propose to Ryan, and we wish the couple the best of luck!
