This is what happened at the Las Vegas Strip
According to Fox 35 Orlando, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received reports of a person climbing the field around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. Boardroom reports that the Las Vegas attraction is 366 feet tall and as wide as 516 feet.
Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill, the head of the department, reportedly explained that he believed the situation was a “publicity stunt”.
“Because of who they told me they believe it is,” McMahill told Fox 35 Orlando.
According to the center, the climber was identified as 24-years-old Maison Des Champs. In addition, Champs has gained more than 280,000 followers on Instagram for starting similar stunts. His username reads, “@prolife.spiderman.”
Additionally, the biography on his profile states:
“I climb skyscrapers to raise money for pregnant women.”
In addition to the sheriff’s comments on the matter, Phoenix Fire Captain Todd Keller also weighed in, according to Fox 35 Orlando.
“This is so dangerous,” he explained. “You not only put yourself at risk, you put firefighters at risk. You put anyone else walking below or anyone around this incident at risk.”

When he reached the top of the world, the 24-year-old shared a video via Instagram with fans.
“Hey guys, I’m here on top of the Sphere,” he said. “I just wanted to say that we are doing this today to raise money for a mother called Isabelle. She’s homeless and pregnant and needs help, guys. So, head over to… the link in my bio to support this lady…”
In addition, Des Champs also took to Instagram to share photos of the start of his climb along with additional information about the woman he was planning to raise money for.
“Today, my mission transcends the adrenaline rush of scaled skyscrapers; it is about directing our collective strength to a purpose far greater than any physical act. At the heart of my climb today is Isabelle, a brave soul who is currently navigating life’s toughest storms, pregnant and experiencing uncertainty at every step,” he wrote .
According to another video posted by Des Champs on Thursday, February 8, he raised more than $21,000 for the woman.
“The reason I’m doing this is the unborn and their mothers – the opportunity to focus on innocent children who are vulnerable to destruction is worth far more than any prison time ,” he wrote in the video’s caption. “We have raised almost $21,000 so far but we will keep it going!!!”
