Netflix drops a teaser trailer for Terminator: The Anime Series
During their Geeked Week event, Netflix teased Terminator: The Anime Series, a brand new addition to the legendary franchise.
Considering the size of the Terminator It’s been a franchise, you’d think there would be more TV based content based on it. So far, the only TV version of the Terminator we had it was (very good) The Sarah Connor Chronicles. However, with the movie franchise on post ice-Grow DarkNetflix is teasing a new streaming product, albeit an animated one!
In fact, as part of their Geeked Week event, the streamer revealed a teaser trailer (which is little more than a title at this point) for Terminator: The Anime Series. A sports musical that pays homage to Brad Fiedel’s iconic score, the teaser promised a new addition to the franchise from Skydance, Japan Animation Studio Production IG, and Mattson Tomlin (Mother / Android). At the moment, James Cameron does not appear to be involved.

A future war has been raging for decades between the few human survivors and an endless army of machines. 1997: the AI known as Skynet gained self-awareness and began its war against humanity. Caught between the future and the past a soldier is sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee who is working to launch a new AI system designed to compete with Skynet’s impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm navigates the moral complexities of his creation, he is hunted by a relentless assassin from the future who will forever change the fate of his three children.
There is no news yet on what the voice series will be like, and the show has no release date other than 2024. There will be eight episodes in the series. With Arnold Schwarzenegger doing FUBAR with the streamer, maybe we’ll get a voice cameo?
