Pat Connaughton/Blake Wesley NBA Detective: February 27 – March 5
Both of Notre Dame’s NBA representatives played four games over the past week. That gave them plenty of opportunities to show what they could do. It didn’t matter that one was an NBA title contender and the other could be Victor Wembanyama’s lawyer. You got to see them play hard, and that’s all that mattered.
It was his first game of the week at Blake Wesley’s best. While his San Antonio Spurs snapped a 16-game losing streak on February 28 against the Utah Jazz, he had an impressive streak of nine points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists. For the week, he averaged 6.5 points and 3.3 rebounds a game.
Meanwhile, Pat Connaughton’s Milwaukee Bucks climbed to the best record in the NBA. His week included 10 points and six rebounds on March 1 against the Orlando Magic and eight points and seven boards on March 5 at the Washington Wizards. The week saw him average 6.0 points and 4.8 rebounds a game.
