Pete Davidson criticizes PETA in a vicious voicemail about buying a new puppy for his family! Listen!
Pete Davidson NOT happy with the animal rights activists over at PETA!
The non-profit animal rescue and operation group started to join him in the few days after the Saturday Night Live alum was seen on video buying a Cavapoo puppy for his family. In fact, the folks over at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals would rather he adopt a dog than buy a breeding dog from a puppy mill. So, when a hidden video emerged of the stand-up star buying the puppy, PETA went on an all-out media blitz.

On Monday, the 29-year-old actor retaliated against PETA’s public relations slam. He left a voicemail with the group targeting a named woman Daphna Nachminovich. She is the Senior Vice President of the non-profit Cruelty Studies, and Pete does NOT like her job!
Early Tuesday, TMZ released a recording of that voicemail – and it went IN! The message starts normally enough, with Pete leaving his full name and asking for Daphna. You can tell him based on the voice, as he opens by saying:
“Hi, my name is Pete Davidson, this message is for Daphna. Thanks for publicly commenting that I didn’t adopt a dog. I just wanted to let you know that I am very allergic to dogs, so I have to get a specific breed. It’s just that I’m not allergic to cavapoos, and that kind of dog.”
That breed of dog, the Cavapoo, is a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the poodle. He’s a very cute mixed breed dog, and one that doesn’t shed, so it’s almost hypoallergenic for someone like Pete who is “severely allergic” to dogs. But that’s not the only reason he bought the dog. As the Meet Cute the star explained, he was getting it as a gift for his mother. She had been mourning the sudden death of her previous dog at just two years old.
That dog, Henry (pictured in inset, above, from last year) has been a family favorite since Pete’s momma Silly and his sister, Casey. The youngest Davidson sis was heartbroken when she mourned the sudden loss of Henry in early May:
So, Pete laid all that out in the second half of the voicemail.

And during that second part of the push, Pete got a phone call really angry at Daphna’s media blitz criticizing his purchase of a puppy mill in the public eye:
“And my mother’s f**king dog, who was two years old, died a week before, and we are all upset. So I had to get a special dog. So why don’t you do your research before you create f**k news stories for people because you are tired, f**k tired. F**k you, and drink my d**k!”
Damn!!!
Pete was leaving!
And PETA isn’t backing down, either! In a reply sent to TMZ after the voicemail was first released, the nonprofit expressed its wish that Davidson had “done his research” and adopted a dog from a shelter rather than giving large sums of money to pay for a certain breed:
“If Pete had done his research, he would have known that there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog, that at least a quarter of the dogs in shelters are purebreds, and that records at Petfinder for homeless dogs of every breed under the sun, including the one he bought.”
The org moved a bit too, though. They added a second statement mourning the loss of the Davidson family’s dog, Henry, while pleading with people to adopt instead of shopping for canine companions at the time. arrival:
“Our hearts go out to the Davidson family for the loss of their dog, but Pete must know in his heart that there is no excuse to buy a dog and maintain a puppy mill business when there are millions of dogs waiting for loving homes in shelters, and we are. hopefully he’ll do the right thing and accept it next time.”
Regarding the King Staten Island star, he also spoke TMZ after the voicemail discussion. For one, he admits he wasn’t aware he could “adopt a special hypoallergenic dog.” He said he had previously been told by others that it was “not an option, and if it was, it was rare. “

But apart from the controversy, he also addressed his anger on the recorded voicemail. The Wizards! The star explained how the arrival of the Cavapoo into his family’s life was very emotional. And between that and the stress of being suddenly filmed without knowledge or permission, he just snapped:
“I haven’t seen my mother and sister cry like that for over 20 years. I was trying to encourage my family. I was already upset that the source had filmed me without permission or my consent. Then this group [PETA] we made a public example of ourselves, making our sad situation worse. I am confused. It was a bad choice of words. I shouldn’t have said what I said, but I don’t regret standing up for myself and my family.”
Damn. Definitely a situation where neither side gives much support. And we don’t really expect either side to change their stance anytime soon, either. It’s well known how PETA feels about “puppy mills,” and Pete’s loyalty to his loved ones has never been in question.
