The 2022 Bird Photographer of the Year winners have been announced.

A photograph of a pheasant in winter plumage has won first prize in the world’s largest bird photography competition. This elusive bird flies over the snowy mountains of Norway’s Tysfjord. The author of the masterpiece of photography is the photographer Erlend Harburg. “On this particular winter day, I was going to the top of the mountain. I was almost there when I saw pheasant tracks in the snow. Soon a bird flies away, showing the harsh conditions she calls home against this spectacular backdrop.” Harburg said.

17-year-old Swiss photographer Levi Fitz won the Young Bird Photographer nomination. Lens managed to catch Sandpiper by doing his best to outrun the sandstorm. The perseverance and endurance of this bird can only be envied.
