The Jets are interested in a trade for the Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. Here’s the latest buzz…

March 1, 10:05 am

Aaron Rodgers appeared as a guest on the Aubrey Marcus Podcast announced Wednesday, and said he will make a “decision soon enough” about his future.

Rodgers spoke at length about his thought process about the decision, even saying he doesn’t want to end up like the former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favrethe retirement and non-retirement process.

“Anyone interested in this is better off making a decision sooner rather than later,” Rodgers said. “I remember before Favre retired, there were times in April and May, we weren’t sure if he was going to come back because he didn’t come to the offseason program. Then in 2008, he resigned in March. and then he said, “No, no, no,” in June after OTAs, “I really want to come back and play. That’s when he was traded to the Jets.

“Obviously there was a lot of tension that summer. For everyone involved directly and indirectly, it’s better to make a decision earlier. I a very good feeling about the conversations that are going to happen, held with important people in my life.”

Rodgers said: “The decision is final. I don’t make it lightly. I don’t want to drag anybody around… I’ll make a decision soon enough and we’ll go down the that way.’ I’ll be excited about it.”

The 39-year-old recently went on a “dark descent” to help decide whether to retire or continue playing football, he said when he revealed eo recently on The Pat McAfee Show.

If the four-time MVP decides to continue playing, he is expected to be the Jets’ top quarterback target this season, according to SNY’s Connor Hughes.

Aaron Rodgers has emerged from its “dark descent,” the owner of the Oregon facility told ESPN.

Rodgers hasn’t decided whether he wants to continue playing, which is part of the reason he went into the background, he said during a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“That’s why I think it’s going to be important to get through this week and take my isolation background and think about everything that’s coming up,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers is expected to be the Jets’ top quarterback target this season, according to SNY’s Connor Hughes.

In an unsurprising move, the Jets have inquired about Rodgers’ availability with the Packers, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Rodgers recently said he would be going on a “field of darkness”, where he would spend four nights alone thinking about the future of football.

The Las Vegas Raiders have been linked to Rodgers.

Hughes said that “the belief, according to multiple sources, is that the Packers intend to do whatever Rodgers asks them to do.” They will welcome him back if he wants to come back as soon as they trade him if he prefers new. There are some inside the Green Bay building that are working and expect Rodgers to be a quarterback next year.”

Before Thursday’s start at the celebrity golf tournament, Rodgers was asked if there was any news he wanted to share. And Rodgers had some.

“Not going to San Fran,” Rodgers said of the possibility of him ending up with the 49ers.

The Niners have expectations Jimmy Garoppolo go through a free agency, but will Trey Lance and Brock Purdy. Purdy tore his UCL during the NFC Title game, but is expected to be ready in time for the regular season.

Even if the 49ers needed it, it’s hard to see the Green Bay Packers trading Rodgers there.

Rodgers addressed the rumors surrounding him during a recent appearance The Pat McAfee Showsaying that he has not yet decided whether he will return to play next season.

“It looks like there are already conversations going on that don’t include me, which is interesting,” Rodgers said of his future in Green Bay.

“I’m not part of those discussions right now,” Rodgers said. “When I make up my mind one way or the other, you and the Packers and everybody will know at some point .”

Rodgers also praised the new Jets OC Nathaniel Hackettwho was Rodgers’ OC with the Packers from 2019 to 2021.

“Love Hack. Hack is my boy. I love him and Megan and the kids,” said Rodgers. “They’re very special to me. We bonded a lot when he was in Green Bay. He made it fun. He made the room fun. He made the weeks fun.”

January 29, 10:47 am

Green Bay prefers to “move on” from Rodgers, who is “well aware of the Packers’ feeling about the situation,” reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter cites financial implications, the overall state of the franchise, and the feelings between the team and Rodgers as reasons to move on.

January 26, 5:53 p.m

SNY’s Connor Hughes reported that the Jets are hiring Nathaniel Hackett because their new OC gives the team a “direct line” to Rodgers.

Hackett was Rodgers’ OC with the Packers from 2019 to 2021, which included years where Rodgers won back-to-back MVP awards.

Hughes wrote:

You’d think the 43-year-old Hackett turned down millions while sunning himself on the beach to handle the pressure of being the offensive coordinator for a playoff-bound team with the -one quarterback commitment as a veteran to be named. – later?

Hell no.

And he’s not signing for Ryan Tannehill or Jimmy Garoppolo, either. The only way Hackett does more damage to his reputation is if he knows someone he can win with on the way. Yes, that player could be the Raiders’ Derek Carr. But Carr is a consolation prize.
