Dressed in a form-fitting dress, Rihanna arrived on the Oscars’ champagne-coloured carpet with her baby bump on proud display – her first high-profile public appearance since last month’s Super Bowl.
The singer, who was nominated in the best original song category at the awards, wore a leather bra and maxi skirt combo by designer label Alaïa, layered over a mesh turtleneck. She finished off the glamorous look with pops of bright red on her lips and nails.

The singer, who is expecting her second child with A$AP Rocky, performed her song “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, after changing into another ensemble by Maison Margiela. The crystal-embellished black bra and gold-accented floral pants were custom-made by the label’s creative director, John Galliano, and finished off with elbow-length black leather gloves.
For her third look of the night, Rihanna switched into a custom mint green bustier and matching skirt by Bottega Veneta. She posed for pictures with A$AP Rocky before rejoining the crowd to watch the rest of the show.
The eponymous album, her first single in six years, also won acclaim at the Golden Globe Awards in January. In both awards, she found herself up against fellow singer Lady Gaga, whose song “Hold My Hand” was in “Top Gun: Maverick”. Finally, both the Oscar and the Golden Globe Award went to the song “Naatu Naatu” from the Indian film “RRR.”

Rihanna revealed she was pregnant during her Super Bowl halftime performance in February. She wore Alaïa that evening too, as part of an all-red bespoke ensemble that also featured designs by Spanish label Loewe.
The star has helped redefine maternity fashion, dressing boldly throughout her first pregnancy in crop tops and sheer sets.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, ‘There’s no way I’m going to shop in any maternity aisle.’ I’m sorry – it’s too much fun to dress you up,” she told Vogue for the magazine’s May 2022 cover story. “I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.”
