Season 3 ordered at Syfy, Reginald the Vampire renewed
Although the news has been full of cancellations recently, fans of Syfy’s Chucky and Reginald the vampire will be glad to know that both shows are updated. ChuckySyfy and USA’s Season 3 renewal shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, with the continuation of the Children’s Play saga highly praised by both fans of the deadly doll franchise and newcomers. According to Deadline, the Don Mancini-created show was a top 10 drama in the sought-after 18-49 demo. Genre vets Jennifer Tilly, Brad & Fiona Dourif, and Devon Sawa all appear on the well-reviewed series opposite Zackary Arthur. Mancini, in a statement to Deadline, promised big things in store for next season:
“The cast and crew at Chucky would like to thank fans and critics alike for their positive response to season two, which we’re thrilled to announce has now officially greenlit a promotion of season three. This news has made Chucky very happy. Thank Damballa for that because otherwise Chucky would have been completely impossible to deal with. Thanks also to our partners at SYFY, USA and UCP for helping us keep Chucky busy. See you in 2023 for what Chucky himself promises will be his scariest season ever. “
At the same time, Reginald the vampirewhich is based on the books by Johnny B. Truant and stars Spider-Man’s Jacob Batalon, returns for a second season at Syfy. Ronald has been a steady performer for Syfy, with the season finale losing very few viewers compared to the premiere. In the show, Batalon stars as the title character, an unlikely vampire who is pitted against the beautiful, fit and vain vamps who inhabit his world.
