A state of emergency has been imposed in the border region of Kyrgyzstan – Batken. On Saturday, September 17, the Ministry of Emergencies of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Officials said the move came after clashes with the Tajik side to prevent casualties and mobilize relevant forces.

Earlier, Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Health reported an increase in the number of civilians injured during clashes along the border with Tajikistan. A total of 103 people were injured, five of whom were sent for outpatient treatment.

Armed conflict began on the morning of September 14 on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The parties blamed each other for the bombing. On September 16, the Kyrgyz Border Guard Service reported that the army had stopped firing along the border with Tajikistan.
