Will’s sexuality has long been the subject of speculation among the public Stranger Things followers. From almost the beginning of the show, they wondered if Will was gay, and harbored unwanted secret feelings for his best friend Mike.

Last summer, the actor who plays Will, Noah Schnapp, confirmed in an interview that Will was indeed gay, saying at the time: “In fact, he was told in Season 1: it was always kind of there, but you’ll never be there. I knew, is he just growing up slower than his friends? Now that he’s older, they made him a real, obvious thing. Now it is 100% clear that he is gay and loves Mike. But before this, it was a slow arc. I think it’s done so beautifully, because it’s so easy to make a character just like suddenly be gay.”

Now 18-year-old Schnapp has come out as gay, in a video he posted to his TikTok account. In the video (which you can watch below) Schnapp lip-syncs to an audio saying “You know what it’s never been? So bad. Actually, it won’t be that bad ever.” The text above the video reads “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being in the closet in fear for 18 years and it was h -everything they said “we know.”

The caption at the bottom of the video reads “I guess I’m more like a will than I thought. “

Stranger Things The upcoming fifth season will be the last for the show. Although the creators of the series have confirmed that they are already working on writing it, it has not been confirmed when the production could start, or when it will be shown for the first time on Netflix.
