Hungarian figure skater Vivienne Papp refused to compete for the national team after receiving sports citizenship from 14-year-old Russian woman Polina Zumaniazova. Valasz Online reported.
“I showed excellent results, but it turned out that the country did not need me, it found a Russian woman. I will perform wherever I am appreciated,” said the player.
According to the publication, in the next junior stage of the Grand Prix in late September, apart from Zumaniazova, several other Russian natives Alexander Vlasenko and Mark Shapiro will compete for the Hungarian team. Choreographer will be Ipakyan Jeranzhak of Russian-Armenian descent.
Earlier, the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) announced that at the next meeting of the executive committee of the organization, it will consider seven applications of athletes for transfer to national teams of other countries.
The International Skating Union (ISU) suspended the Russian figure skater from all international competitions in March. Among other things, figure skaters had to miss the World Championships in France in March.
