Diana Davis, daughter of Russian coach Eteri Tutberidze, and her ice dance partner Gleb Smolkin are members of the US Figure Skating Association, Skating Lessons podcast author David Lees announced on Twitter.

Fox noted that the skaters represent different clubs.

Alexander Kogan, director general of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR), called Fox’s information “nonsense”.

“They can’t be American skaters, they’re our skaters. They are members of our team, of course, no request can be made to FFKKR about the transfer of athletes,” Kogan told RIA Novosti.

RBC sent an application to the US Figure Skating Association.

Fox periodically reports on Tutberidze and his daughter in connection with the United States. So, at the beginning of June, she wrote that the skater would play for the US team, but Davis denied this. In late June, Fox announced that the dance duo would be featured in US Figure Skating.

He also claimed that Davis and Smolkin were married.

On September 17, Lees wrote that Davis and Smolkin were to compete in the Challenge Cup event in Ardmore, America, which qualifies for the US Championship.

In July, Tutberidze rebuked Lis on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, a company considered an extremist organization and banned in Russia). The coach said the journalist was “full of trash” and had “no conscience or dignity.” “You do not respect others because you have not achieved anything yourself. You and your statements only insult those around you. You should be ashamed,” Tutberidze wrote, but the comment was later deleted.

Davis was born in the United States but grew up in Russia. Last season, the pair finished second at the Russian Championships, seventh at the European Championships and 14th at the Olympics.
