It has already been almost a year and a half since the last James Bond film, There is no time to die, opened in theaters. That was a very definitive end to the Daniel Craig era of the character. (If you’ve seen the movie, you know why.) But James Bond can’t end, at least as long as the movies keep making money.
But James Bond cannot continue until a new actor is chosen for the role. This is the seventh actor to play Bond in the official film series, after Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Craig. So far, we haven’t heard anything about who might be the new 007, or even when an announcement might be coming. That said, it looks like we may be getting closer.
Taron Egerton, who apparently had to be in the conversation for the new Bond only on the basis of a reboot that includes a star in Bond parodies The King’s Manhe says he will No be the next guy to chug martinis and play baccarat against an evil supervillain who wears an eye patch. He said Full movie he knows he’s not running for office because, as he said, “I mean, I think they already have somebody, and it’s not me.”
Now, Egerton could be wrong. Maybe he was told there was a new Bond by someone, and that a person could be given bad or incomplete information. The producers are probably choosing between a handful of finalists and Egerton didn’t make the cut. Or it could be that the producers really made the choice and they just haven’t finalized the deal with the actor, or they’re still strategizing the best way to cast him (or i?) launched as 007.
In the meantime, Egerton will be seen again in the film version of Tetris – actually the filming story of the making of the original Tetris game – starting March 31 on Apple TV +.
