US Secretary of State Blinken called for an end to nuclear threats

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called for an “immediate end to nuclear threats” in his speech at a UN Security Council (SC) meeting dedicated to Ukraine. He was quoted by TASS.

“Every member of the council [Безопасности ООН] A clear signal must be sent that reckless nuclear threats must stop immediately,” urged a US State Office spokesperson.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called on the nuclear powers to reaffirm their renunciation of the use of nuclear weapons. He called the conflict in Ukraine a “senseless war” with unlimited potential to cause terrible damage around the world.

On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned countries trying to blackmail Moscow with nuclear weapons. The Russian leader pointed out that “they should know that the compass rose can turn in their direction.” Putin made the statement after announcing a partial curfew.
