Mifepristone is combined with a second drug called misoprostol, usually taken within 10 to 12 weeks of pregnancy to induce what is known as abortion. Misoprostol, which is commonly used to treat miscarriage, is not a restricted drug and is easily available at pharmacies by prescription.
