‘They Cloned Tyrone’ Trailer Teases Up Netflix’s Conspiracy Comedy
Netflix has finally released a trailer for the upcoming sci-fi mystery film They lost Tyrone. The film stars John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Jamie Foxx. The three of them find themselves involved in a strange conspiracy, after discovering that one of their friends has been cloned. After following the kidnapper’s van, they discover a secret underground bunker, no doubt there as part of a strange experimental program.
Although the film doesn’t seem to take all of this too seriously, some critics have pointed out that this plot has shades of secret government programs that have happened over the years, and that don’t come to light but with hindsight.

The whole movie seems to have a certain aesthetic, harkening back to tons of 70’s movies while maintaining a modern feel. The characters’ own clothes are recommended. Each character, whether a hustler, pimp, or pro, has a design that reveals a lot about their character traits. The film is directed by first time director, Juel Taylor. Although he doesn’t have a regular body of work yet, if this film is as good as it looks, we might be looking forward to more from him.
Here is the official synopsis of the film:
A series of eerie events push three unlikely people (Boyega, Foxx and Parris) to uncover a sinister government conspiracy in this pulpy mystery thriller.
They lost Tyrone premieres on Netflix on July 21.
