A political pressure group, Deltans Life Matters, on Monday slammed the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike, for calling for his removal as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. His grievances after he lost to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the presidential primaries.
The group, in a statement by its Global Coordinator, Mr. Moses Abeh, asked the party to move forward and not allow Wike or anyone to be distracted in the build-up to the 2023 general elections.
Abeh said: “The PDP 2022 presidential primary has come and gone and a winner has emerged. The winner, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has also chosen his runner up in the person of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa. Yet, one person who has continued to make mountains out of Mole Hill is Nyesom Wike, the current Governor of Rivers State.

Information Commissioner Gbenga Omotoso made the announcement in a statement on Monday.

Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kiari said on Monday that allegations by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency linking him to ownership of 14 properties, including shopping malls, residential estates, polo grounds, lands and farmlands, are false.
Kyari, a former Commander, Intelligence Response Team, in a statement by his lawyer Hamza Dan Tani, said the reports were fabricated by NDLEA to further tarnish his image.
According to him, the agency resorted to cheap blackmail because “the case of NDLEA against Abba Kyari and four others did not sit well with them”.
