UFC Fight Night Predictions – Beneil Dariush vs. Arman Tsarukyan: Fight Card, Odds, Start Time, Live Stream

0 11

With the constant churn of UFC events nearly a week away, many Fight Night cards fall through the cracks. Saturday’s card in Austin, Texas is not one of those events. Instead, the UFC has loaded up one of the final cards of the year with strong and meaningful matches across multiple divisions.

The main event features a pair of top 10 lightweights as Beneil Dariush battles Arman Tsarukyan. Dariush is coming off a loss in June to Charles Oliveira. That loss snapped Dariush’s eight-fight winning streak dating back to November 2018. A win over Oliveira would have almost guaranteed Dariush a lightweight title shot.

Instead, Dariush is now looking to climb back into the title mix, although it will be a tough task with Tsarukyan standing in his way.

Tsarukyan is 7-1 over his last eight fights, the lone loss coming to Mateusz Gamrot by decision in June 2022. Gamrot is a common opponent for both men, with the most recent victory at Dariush coming by decision over Gamrot in October 2022.

Since his loss to Gamrot, Tsarukyan has picked up back-to-back wins over Damir Ismagulov and Joaquim Silva and now holds the No. 8 spot in the UFC’s official rankings.

The co-main event is also a battle of the lights as No. 12 Jalin Turner takes on No. 13 Bobby Green. Both men have different career trajectories going into the fight, with Turner having suffered back-to-back split decision losses to Gamrot and Dan Hooker during the two most recent fights at Green he introduced Tony Ferguson and dismissed Grant Dawson.

There are other big fights across the card, including former two-time flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo moving up to bantamweight against Rob Font and Sean Brady fighting Kelvin Gastelum at welterweight .

Let’s take a closer look at the rest of the undercard with the latest odds before we get to predictions and expert picks for the main event.

Let’s start by saying that the odds are off for this fight. Tsarukyan being the favorite makes sense, but -320 is pretty wide for such a close fight and gamblers should probably see some value in Dariush as such a big underdog. However, Tsarukyan has very good wrestling and a dominant top game. Dariush has to fight back and use his underrated jiu jitsu game to sweep and escape

Can Darius do enough on his feet and get off his back when taken down? That is the biggest question going into the fight. Expect both men to have their moments, but Tsarukyan should eventually wear down Dariush before his main game takes over the fight and carries enough rounds to get the decision. Pick: Arman Tsarukyan via UD
