Vivek Agnihotri suits ‘A’ grade for Akshay Kumar starrer; says, ‘There should be no CBFC’
OMG 2 is released in cinemas tomorrow. The stars of the movie Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in key positions. The film had certification problems with the CBFC Board for a while before the makers agreed with the ‘A’ rating, that is, ‘Adults only’ for OMG 2. The film deals with the sensitive topic of sex education. Before the ‘A’ rating, there were discussions about the board asking for cuts from the makers of the upcoming new film. And now, Vivek Agnihotria member of CFBC has dealt with the same thing.
Vivek Agnihotri deals with OMG 2 CBFC issues
While talking to an online entertainment news portal, Vivek Agnihotri was asked about the certification issues related to OMG 2. Although Vivek is not a part of the review committee, he expressed his feelings saying that the rating is not justified and should not be. be any CBFC at all. He was asked about the changes made to Akshay Kumar’s character. Akshay earlier played the role of Lord Shiva who was transformed into a messenger of Lord Shiva. Vivek says it’s not reasonable and doesn’t agree with him. Being a part of CBFC, Vivek Agnihotri says that he is against it and that he believes that there is pressure on the committee. He claims that whatever is happening is the result of social and religious pressure. Vivek says that everyone now knows that CBFC is a very vulnerable organization that will get pressured.

Vivek also agrees with the number of cuts requested by the CBFC board. The board had asked the makers of OMG 2 to make up to 27 cuts. He asks why CBFC should decide that. He also claims that CBFC should not exist. He says that he is against all kinds of bans and boycotts of films and that he believes in free speech. So much so that he feels that even hate speech should be allowed. He tells India.com, “What is the intention of the filmmaker? If the intention is not bad, let it be.”
OMG 2 is clashing with Gadar 2 tomorrow. The pre-registrations for OMG 2 are very low. Maybe it will pick up after the first reviews and word of mouth. We hope both the films do fair business.
