Friday at the 2022 Masters delivered a magical moment at the par-3 16th hole when Stewart Cink, with his son on the bag, delivered the tournament’s first hole-in-one in spectacular fashion. Cink, 48, landed on the upper side of the green and let the slope do the work with his ball dropping almost halfway across the front surface. spin sinks right into the cup.

Cink and his son, Reagan, shared an emotional moment as soon as his ball went under the pin. Reagan dropped the older Cink bag where it was and raced to embrace his father before sharing some high fives as well to celebrate. Even cooler: his father’s ace came on Reagan’s birthday. A sneak peek at the video shows the elder Cink mouthing, “Happy birthday,” to his son.

Incredibly, this was the second hole-in-one for Cink at the par-3 16th hole at Augusta National. As Justin Ray from the twenty first group he noted, gave Cink a hole-in-one in four different decades as a pro: 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.

With the brisk winds and high scores at the Masters on Friday, Cink’s ace was one of the few genuinely happy moments on a course that has seen a lot of sophisticated play by frustrated golfers.
