Jane Fonda recently shared that she has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. However, she doesn’t let the disease stand in the way of raising awareness about climate change.

Jane Fonda reveals she has cancer

Jane Fonda announced on her Instagram handle on Friday that she has cancer and is undergoing treatment.

‘I have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and have started chemo,’ she began.

The 84-year-old actress shared that the disease is treatable and that 80% of people have survived so far.

Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a cancer that starts in the lymphatic system. In this disease, white blood cells known as lymphocytes grow abnormally which can cause tumors around the body.

Moreover, Fonda added, ‘I’m also lucky because I have health insurance and I have the best doctors and treatments. I am aware of this, and it is painful that I am privileged. Almost every family in America has faced cancer at one point or another, and many don’t have access to the quality health care I do, and it’s not fair.’

She added, ‘We are living in one of the most impactful times in human history because what we do or don’t do now will determine what the future holds and I won’t let cancer stop me from doing the best I can. .’

The Grace and Frankie actress concluded, ‘The midterms are growing, and they are impactful so you can count on me as we continue to grow our army of climate champions.’
