Where Is Grogu During The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy?

0 23

Success in Star wars comes with problems. When you introduce characters as popular and important as the Mandalorian and his sidekick Grogu in episodes before films and events that have already been made, people want to know: What happened to these characters? In other words: Why didn’t Mando show up to help the Resistance in the Star wars sequels? If Grogu is basically a master Jedi, how come he didn’t try to stop Palpatine from coming back somehow?

The creators of the The Mandalorian thinking about these things too. The Mandalorian said writer/director/producer Dave Filoni The Hollywood Reporter that he and the rest of the show’s creative team will be “talking about a lot of different things” about what happens to Mando and Grogu after the end of the Disney+ series finale to explain their absence from movies like The Force is awakening, The Last Jediand The Rise of Skywalker.

Although Filoni wouldn’t give a concrete answer about Grogu’s whereabouts, he did say this…

As a kid, when Yoda said, “When I’m gone, you’ll be the last of the Jedi,” to Luke, I took that literally. Well, now we know that is anything but true. There are many different people who could carry the force, and Lucas may be the last Jedi as far as what Yoda would consider a Jedi. So we’ll have to wait and see how the story unfolds and what makes sense. But in my experience, there is definitely a way to weave everything together and make it exciting. It’s possible that it wouldn’t even have to go over what we saw [in the sequel trilogy] if our story is somewhere else.

They will have to explain this some day. Because there is no way in that world Star wars Fandom will forever accept the explanation for Grogu’s absence from these films as “Oh, well Moff Gideon finally killed him.” Baby Yoda can never die. So this needs to be definitively explained at some point.
