State Man will now be in action when he takes on Constitution Hill in the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival next month.

State Man’s Irish Champion Hurdle win demonstrated Willie Mullins’ complete dominance of the Dublin Festival as the trainer won the meeting’s Grade One races.

Mullins star had justified his 2-5 price by repeating his victory in 2023 as he was more than five lengths away from Bob Olinger.

State Man will next aim to topple Constitution Hill in the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival.

Ballyburn, El Fabiolo and Fact To File also won on Sunday to complete Mullins’ clean sweep of the eight Grade Ones.

The weekend performance was achieved at odds of almost 6,505-1 as Mullins’ army of equine superstars produced an ominous display ahead of the Cheltenham Festival.

Sunday’s victory followed a Saturday to remember Mullins as Paul Townend rode Galopin Des Champs to victory in the Irish Gold Cup after the nephew of trainer Danny Mullins had previously won the stable’s three Grand One wins , including the success of Il Etait Temps in the Irish. Archangel.

Statesman in ‘tip top order’ – Mullins

Since falling on his first start to Willie Mullins at this track in December 2021, States Man has been a dominant force in the division in Ireland, winning nine of his next 10 outings.

His only defeat in that period came at the hands of Nicky Henderson’s Foundation, who proved nine lengths too strong in the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last season.

Despite State Man’s successful defense of the All-Ireland Hurdle, Constitution Hill remains favorite going into Cheltenham but Mullins was pleased with his horse’s performance at Leopardstown after another trip from Paul Townend.

“We have the chance, State Man is out and racing and he’s going to go there in tip-top order. It’s all to play for,” said the trainer.

“Everything is open. They (the Hill Foundation contacts) are not going to worry too much and they will be confident enough that they have enough in the locker to beat us regardless what shall we do.”

Paul Townend had another Grade One success for Willie Mullins aboard El Fabiolo

El Fabiolo added to his Queen Mother Chase advantage at Cheltenham with a dominant victory in the Dublin Chase

El Fabiolo produced impressive form ahead of the Queen Mother’s Champion Chase challenge at Cheltenham by winning by eight and a half lengths over fellow Mullins horse Dinoblue in the Dublin Chase.

Mullins’ horse remains the odd choice to secure the trainer’s third consecutive victory in the Cheltenham race after back-to-back wins against currently sidelined Energumene.

Townend was on board for El Fabiolo’s victory and having earlier ridden Ballyburn to success in the Novice Hurdle as the 10-11 favorite finished seven lengths ahead of Slade Steel.

Fact to File, ridden by Mark Walsh, secured a 6-4 win for Mullins in Sunday’s opening Ladbrokes Novice Chase after 4-7 trainer Gaiggeach na Gaelic favorite Townend was unseated at the hurdle of last.

It looked like Gaiggeach Gaelic was already struggling but his accident allowed Fact to File to take a strong victory.
